In the world of non-profits and charities, there are numerous organizations helping others find opportunities that would otherwise be unattainable. When it comes to helping others go fishing, the list below details some of the best charities that exist in the U.S.
1) C.A.S.T for Kids
C.A.S.T., which stands for Catch A Special Thrill, was created in 1991, with a mission of making outdoor fishing opportunities more available for disadvantaged children. 2) Fishing Has No Boundaries
In 1986, Bobby Cammack, a fishing guide, suffered a broken leg and as a result started this organization with the aim of making fishing and other outdoor opportunities more available to all anglers. Now Fishing Has No Boundaries has grown to over 20 chapters across the U.S. and serves as a voice for people with disabilities and the struggles they face in regards to outdoor recreation. 3) Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing
With a goal of assisting disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans with physical and emotional rehabilitation through fly fishing, Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing has made waves in the fishing community since 2005. Currently, Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing is known as a leader in therapeutic outdoor recreation for the disabled as it focuses on education and outings.
