A River Runs Through It (1992)

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011)

Ewan McGregor stars as an expert in fisheries who helps to bring the sport of fly-fishing to the desert in a tale of passion and perseverance. The film was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards including Best Picture.

Perfect Storm (2000)

Set in 1991, this movie tells of an intense storm that rocked the North Atlantic waters and stars George Clooney and Mark Walberg. A commercial fishing boat seeking swordfish is caught in the storm and they are less than prepared for what they must face.

The Old Man and The Sea (1958)

Based on Ernest Hemmingway's legendary tale of tenacity and triumph, this film stars Spencer Tracy in a commanding role. He is the old man who, after a long spell of bad luck, hooks a monster fish that pushes him to his limits, both mentally and physically.
