There are Three Steps to Remove a Fish Hook Do You Know Them All?

Posted on November 01 2017

In this video an angler gets a treble hook stuck in his hand after landing a fish. He takes the opportunity to teach others how to properly remove the hook in three simple steps.

Did you catch all three steps? If not they are listed below:

1) Push the hook all the way through. This will give you access to the barb for the next step.

2) Pinch the barb down. The barb is what keeps the hook in the fish's mouth, and you certainly don't want it to stay in your flesh.

3) Once the barb is completely depressed, simply back it out the way it came in and you're free.

Next time this happens to you or someone else on your fishing trip use these simple steps to avoid a trip to the emergency room.
