As you can see, currents around rocks are more tumultuous than others, as they have many converging channels moving near them. To get better line control, it's best to try and cast over only one current.
To better lure in the fish, cast in deeper pockets or the fish will feel too exposed and will avoid your fly. Remember all you have to do is put that fly right in front of the fish's face and they will bite. Then it's up to you to properly set the hook and land it safely.
